Well it depends.. how do you play your music? Do you play it loud most of the time, or do you have gains sets up high? You're most likely trying to push power that the amp isn't capable of, to the sub.
maybe your sub has to much power for that amp. i would upgrade and get a 1000w amp. or u dont have your ground wire connected right. u have to make sure u scrape all the paint off of where u put it
