i have put new spark plugs in which have good spark, compression seems good, new fuel and lines, pretty sure ive got fuel getting at least to the carb it turns over but just doesnt want to fire, piston chambers dont seem to be flooded with water or petrol although i put some down there to see if i could get it started but nup. the bloke i bought it from said it was running fine and then sat for 8 months now just doesnt want to start, any ideas? will it be the carby?

the rings are probably all gummed up pour some brake fluid in the cylinder and let sit for a day crank over with plugs out to get rid of excess brake fluid reinstall plugs and go jet sking

Carbs are a good place to start If you in fact have good compression. This eliminates stuck piston rings but running a compression test is the only way to eliminate stuck rings or scored cylinder walls.

I assume that you tried to start and you determine that you have good spark by watching the spark plugs as you turned the engine over so the Safety Lanyard was in place right. ?
