why wont my blackberry let me access the settings for profiles/ringtones?? please help?

when i go to settings > profiles i ahve a list of all the profiles right. its set to normal. usually when i'd click on it it would take me to another option thing where i could choose the sounds for bbm or text. and now it wont. what the hell is wrong with it does anyone know? i have a blackberry bold 9000 thanks
