...dominant culture?
I've seen in recent immigrants an unwillingness to learn english. I've heard my African American friends dismiss White Music (Rock/Roll, Country, Folk) as "Wuss" etc.
I ask this question because America as a whole has become accepting and inclusive in our musical and cultural tastes. Witness our restaurants, top 40 stations etc.
I enjoy foods and music of all cultures and accept that which is best and most reflective of a persons race or national origin, but see dismissal of anything deemed to be 'White' by those that I know from different cultures. At first I thought that it was unfamiliarity, until I asked and was told "I don't eat White people food" by someone that I have worked with for many years, and in who's home I had enjoyed Caribbean food and music many times. GReat!!!
Don't tell me that White people are lame or such other silly non-sense, I am Native American (First Nation) and do not understand the negativity I've encountered
Let me also say that I am over 65 and a native of Oklahoma transplanted to California, and have been on the negative side of Racism most of my life.
Not only was I "Okie Trash" but also a "Savage" as well.

And just exactly why would someone label something "White people food"?
Europe encompasses so many cultures.
My real problem is not with those that don't like "White People Food and Music" but their unwillingness to even try it. Their total dismissal of it before they've tried it is my main concern.
i was told once about a man that would not eat Salmon. He cooked and ate his dog during hard times, even though there was smoked salmon and corn cakes available to him. He dismissed these delicacies as poor people food.
When he was 76 years old he was at an expensive banquet held in his honor ate an appetizer of smoked salmon presented on a corn cake and marveled at the beauty of it's taste. It was only then that realized that his prejuduce had denied him the opportunity to have some thing so delicious.
I married a Black man in 1968 Chicago.
I have sons that are white and sons that are considered black and they have married women from varied cultures and nationalities.
My Grandchildren encompass the Hues and continents of the earth, and I love and accept these differences and think that they have made ma a much richer and more enlightened human being. I wonder why I see so much dismissal from those seeking acceptance from the dominant culture (of which I am not a member) that is my real question.

OK, you say that people shouldn't label things white people food or music but then label it that yourself. But, "white people" aren't the dominant culture in America. America's culture is a mesh up of a bunch of different cultures, enjoyed by many races and ethnicities. Just because a rap song is on top 40 doesn't mean that white people are accepting other cultures. It means that the song is enjoyed by so many, to get it on there.
