Why is the Suzuki DRZ400E lighter than the DRZ400S and DRZ400SM?

The E has minimal lighting, just a headlight and LED taillight, and a minimalist enduro odometer, while the S has full road equipment, full-sized headlight with high and low beam, full-sized tail light and brake light, horn, turn signals, full instrumentation and mirrors. It also has a fan, which the E does not.

S uses vacuum-slide carbs where the E has a pumper carb, but there is probably not much weight difference there.

The E used to have better suspension, but that difference has been eliminated in later models.

The SM has beefier, wheels brakes and forks, because its designed as a good handling street oriented machine. Not sure about the differnce in E and S.
