I greatly appreciate that ANY murder is a tragedy, but I am totally bewildered as to why this is such a major news item, and has been for two years. Khurram Ashraf was murdered in Manchester yesterday when he was robbed of his laptop and £10,000 - it briefly made the news but nothing today. Am I missing something with the Kercher murder?
I wasn't trying to score any race points here - I was merely mentioning the most recent murder in the UK media and pointing out how it was a 15-minute wonder, whereas the Kercher case just runs and runs.
And I appreciate that it involved salacious detail and was a young girl and international suspects, but so do many other murders.
There is something "extra" here that I just don't get - and I was a policeman for 30 years so know all about notoriety etc.
