people told me that my amp was shot but i know that it is not it doesnt smell burnt does this mean my amp is fine

Sounds like your problem is one of two things:

1) There is an electrical short inside the amplifier

2) Your power wire is exposed and touching metal somewhere in the installation, thus, shorting the 12v power to ground.

I would recommend removing your existing power wire, check it thoroughly for any breaks or tears in the insulation, and verify that you have not put a screw through the wire somewhere.

because your power wire isnt big enough

upgrade to either 4 or 1/0 gauge, the bigger the wire.. the better

maybe its the wrong rating, or maybe your battery is putting out to much power to it. It should be no more than about 14v

based on what you said it sound like you might have a wire crossed ,, look the wireing over again make sure it's not frayed in the fire wall or something of that manor , good luck

its a bad earth
rewire ur earth wire ur fuse going is whats stopping the amp from blowing
