Why is it that every culture revers lighter skin over darker skin?

It can't all be blamed on European colonization and slavery. It exists in Japan, India, south east asia. If there exists or ever has existed a culture which considered darker skin more beautiful or a sign or aspect of inherent superiority, I'm unaware of it
 
Since I'm East Asian, I can assure you that Chinese, Japanese and Koreans prefer light skin to dark skin, especially since most of us are pale anyway. People may consider this biased, but it's our culture. Light skin is consider to be pure, while darker skin is, well, not so beautiful. This is why ancient Japanese women/geisha paint their face white with makeup. It's actually consider very attractive to men back then.

However, in America, tan skin is consider beautiful and light or pale skin is like a turnoff.
 
actually i am drawn to caramel skin i think it is absolutely beautiful. white skin doesn't do it for me i cant understand some ppls fascination with it.
 
I think it's the other way around honestly.
Why do you think so many people go tanning?

Read more history and remember that the Romans thought having very pale skin was ... odd ...they painted their white marbel statues togive them flesh tones.

African cultures do not value albinism.
