Why is being educated in thinking for yourself "brainwashed"?

Conservatives have an awful habit of calling out lefties for being "brainwashed." Exactly how is that true if they are the ones researching what they find to support their opinions? If anything, its the opposite, the conservatives that think that global warming is not real or that religion should play a role in public policy are the ones under the influence of demagogues.
 
It's called projection. They try to make others look like the ones who are truly brainwashed, when it is actually them. Thanks in a big part to the masters of brainwashing: Fox and static AM radio, and Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter, O'Reilly, Savage, Joe The Heckler, racist tea parties etc .....
 
The problem is Fox News (the wellspring of everything Conservatives think as near as I can tell) doesn't educate people to think for themselves - they say "Think like us or you are a goddamm America hating Communist."
