Can any one anwer this question truthfully?...and saying that age discrimination is hard to prove is not an answer. It is easy to approve...for the government, that is, if they wanted to. I am talking about age discrimination with regards to 1. laying off, and 2. hiring. It is my opinion that they don't want you if you are over 50. I am talking about corporate America...management non-union type jobs...analyst type positions. If they wanted to, the government could create an office dedicated to sniffing out age discrimination...and they could do it statistically...for example, they could send in resumes from young and older people and keep track of the results and they could send equally qualified younger and older people to interviews and tally the results...etc. Statistically, it could be done. BUT THEY DON'T DO IT!!! WHY??????
To Austin N.: world of infinite details??? heck..the IRS uses the details of your income to tax you, so you should be able to use the details of age discrimination against the company BECAUSE IT IS DISALLOWED BY LAW!!!
