why does the media always blame a certain culture for being the reason someone has

commited suicide etc.....? this doesnt relate solely to suicide, its meant 2 cover everything

what angered me is when media started blaming the 'emo' culture. a couple of examples of this is when the daily mail (i think it was) published an article basically classing emo as a suicide culture. another is the story about when hannah bond (r.i.p) comitted suicide the media instantly turned round and blamed the emo culture aswell as slating the lyrical content of my chemical romance songs (hannah was a mcr fan and basically the media said that the lyrics influenced her decision) i mean hannah could have had problems that she was afraid to speak to anyone about (eg being harassed by people at school) and this could have led to the tragic outcome........

btw i do see myself as part of the 'emo' culture and did go on the protests that were a result of the above
 
Unfortunately, because many in the "emo" culture project just that. No, it may not be the one and only source for the decision to take your life--but it certainly doesn't help to be surrounded by people who only want to see the down side to things. Most of us know that "emo" is a fashion statement for the most part, but there are many that immerse themselves too deep into it for the pure enjoyment of angst and attention.
 
The media just wants to blame something and for some reason they've decided 'emo' is that thing. Everything they say is unfair and untrue - these media types don't have a clue what they're talking about. How dare they drag my chemical romance's name up everytime - my chem have never (in they're lyrics or otherwise) promoted suicide or self harm or anything else like that, in fact they have on countless occasions at they're gigs and stuff spoken and against it and told fans that is very much not the way to go.
