Why does pop culture stereotype white people as being nerdy?

Where I'm from in Florida white people are the hardest and it seems like there's less white nerds than any other race. They are still smart but not nerdy at all. The groups of people that seem to have the most nerdy people are asians and Indians (from India). Whites and Latinos seem to be the hardest and get fucked up the most n do other crazy shit in my opinion
