Why does my radio work but my CD player doesn't?

I have a Sony CDX-GT40W CD player and I am installing it for the second time. This time I am doing it without the wiring diagram but they're all color coordinated. For some reason the CD player doesn't put out any sound but the radio works just fine.

I'm installing it in a 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited
