its a power cable... i think its 10 or 12 gauge, to a small amp. i just got a bigger rockford 401s 1200w and i wanted to try it out. when i hooked everything up appropriately i went to go put the negative battery terminal back on my fuse in the power cord keeps blowing out. i had the the setting to the lowest Hz and the "80a" fuse blew and the "40a" fuse broke. any idea why its doing that?

it shouldnt blow by just hooking it up. if you turn it on and play some music then it might. 1200watts you need atleast a 100amp fuse. because i had a 1200watt directed audio amp and i blew a 80amp fuse too. they had to put a 100amp fuse in and then i never blew it
1000-1500 need 80-150amps mostly for good brand amplifiers
2000-2500 need 150-250amps
3000-4000 need 250-300amps
kicker, fosgate, hifonics, soundsteam. etc. all these amps draw that much amps
