why do people say that if you are educated, you don't have to obey these

verses'1cor.14:34-35'? 1 corinthians 14:34-35 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.

35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

To understand 1 Corinthians 14:34-36 one must understand what was happening during that early time of the church. Paul had a group of excited people who want to learn or speak in church. This event caused mass confusion to many and great disorder to the church itself. In order to gain control of this situation Paul asked the women to listen first, ask questions second (when there was time to explain what was going on). Remember, Christianity is new. Thus a formed, controlled environment was being encouraged. Just as a mother may silence a child in church, it does not mean he/she can never speak again or be used by God. It was done out of respect in order to help the child and church mature.

I think that no matter how many times and in how many different ways you post this question they're not gonna get what you're saying dude.

I do though...

Hypocrisy... not just for kids anymore :)

Why do you say "people" say that when it's just you? hahahaha

And thanks for admitting that educated people would say we don't have to obey those verses today.

Thank you for admitting YOU are not educated. But we could tell that already.

Lord Jesus YOUR throne is above satans throne and all the kingdoms of the earth

I bind this evil spirit that is trying to pervert Your Gospel Lord Jesus .

Show them the truth of who You are .

You already destroyed the work of the enemy Lord Jesus at the cross and He wants to raise his ugly head perverting your gospel.

Because a recently rediscovered document has shed new light on the trial and suppression of the legendary Knights Templar. CNA previously reported that the document would be published, but now more details have become available.

The Knights Templar were a military order formed during the early Crusades to protect Christians in the Holy Land. They became very wealthy, owning property all over Europe and the Middle East. They even began an early international banking system.

In the early fourteenth century the French King Phillip IV ordered the Grand Master of the Order and other knights burned after the order was accused of heresy, blasphemy, and sexual misconduct. Various legends have accrued to their reputation, including the most recent claim that the knights possessed the Holy Grail.

The rediscovered document, known as the Chinon parchment, is an original account in Latin of the investigation and trial of the Knights Templar. The investigation took place in Rome between 1307 and 1312. According to the document, Pope Clement V exonerated the Templars on the charge of heresy, but found them guilty of other infractions. He also ordered the Knights Templar to disband.

The Chinon parchment was lost for centuries after a cataloguing error. It was rediscovered five years ago by Barbara Frale, a historian who works in the Vatican Library's Secret Archives.

The new book’s publisher, Scrinium, has already published two other digitally mastered and hand-finished collections of color reproductions of precious documents from the Secret Archives.

The document is 20 inches wide by six and a half feet long - the size of a small dining table.

The parchment is being reproduced for academic libraries. Copies will be printed on synthetic parchment and packaged in a soft leather case with a reproduction of the original papal wax seal. Each of the eight hundred copies will cost $8,000. Seven hundred and ninety nine copies will be available for sale and the final copy will be presented to Pope Benedict.

That's a relatively detailed issus, and not of great importance, and a tertiary matter. However one needs to become a christian first; all these detail instructions and any relevance that they have are no good until one becomes a christian. Most people here are not aware that you are the person who was saying "why did Jesus call for crusades in Matthew 10" and other related questions, so are not a christian but in fact a mocker.

Do these verses mean that women shouldn't speak in Church today?
That is the impression your question implies.

The women in Corinth were given spiritual gifts and were encouraged
to exercise them in the body of Christ [Church]; and in the same way in
to days Churches; women have spiritual gifts and are encouraged to use them.

Paul's statement here was to promote unity, not to talk about women's roles in the Church;.

a true bible believing church (which im guessing you don't belong to if you even own a bible) preaches the whole counsel of God.

Every word of God is true and useful for a victorious life.

Women are not slaves or less than men. They have a different role in Gods plan. But that would take bible study. you seem to just want to fight about the same verses without growth.

sad really..........God offers you so much.

you will become more educated if you start reading from Genesis thru Revelation--might even gain some insight or even a new perspective on things--or are you afraid of the outcome?

Dude, while I don't totally disagree with you, those verses don't apply to your argument, so please use some other verses okay.

You again..... What is it with you, and this ONE verse in the bible? Will you please get over it, and grow up? Leave the women alone. It's about time that they had equality with men.
Peace!!!

This scripture is making reference to teaching in the congregation only!
We are all commanded by God to preach the good news of the kingdom. Matthew 28:19-20 Matt. 24:14
In fact most of the preaching work is done by women. Psalms 68:11
Galatians 3:26-28 Phil 4:2-3
