...your races popular culture? for example say the teacher asks a question about africa. why do half the people look at me as if i was born and raised there? or my non black friends ask me the meaning to a ghetto slang word like i have a lil wayne dictionary? does anyone else have this problem? jw :)

That, my friend, is called ignorance. They are ignorant. No better way to put it. No one can possibly no everything about something they are not. It's called "take a walk in my shoes". Until you have experienced the same ordeal(s) that people from a different race has experienced, your own comments and thoughts are ignorant.

Because you're expected to know more about it. When we were talking about sweatshops in Bangladesh .. who do you turn to? NAZ! And yes I didnt know anymore than the rest .. how would I know I dont work in a sweatshop. I'm not from Dhaka where the sweatshops are.
