Why do my car subwoofers sound so bad?

I have 2 15" q power subwoofers

they used to be on a pioneer 700 watt amp
but i just put them on a 1800 watt amp and there is basically NO difference in quality or quantity of sound

what am i doing wrong?
 
Well, there are many things that can be wrong.

First off, did you wire the subwoofers correctly with their impedance?

Secondly, did you adjust the Gain on your amp?

Thirdly, what subwoofers are you running on what amp? Some subwoofers cannot be run on certain types of amplifiers.
