Why do many Americans think western culture is superior?

I honestly cant find many good things that western culture has produced that wasn't at the expense of some other peoples. As far as I'm concerned, committing genocide on the indigenous people in North America, colonization, and destroying other cultures do not make them superior. Their culture was built and continues to be based on exploitation. Destruction is not a valuable and certainly not a superior culture.

Have they been brainwashed by American propaganda?
 
If you think about it there are plenty of things in western culture its not superior an any way though well theres some art work like some of the roman status but truth fully each culture has its own butty and each have ugly sides to them and ur being to harsh to Americans i know more Americans that want to leave here then stay America is new so tecnecly theres not mutch culter hear but realy most pepole think that there contry is the besset and all the reast r strang its the way pepopl just r with out even relising it to manny pepole are narow minded

This is not a recent development in the history of humanity. Name one culture on the planet that at some point did not overpower -- by one means or another -- the one that used to occupy the same piece of ground.
