Why do educated women sleep with boss for promotions or favoritism?

Let's work off the assumption that the women are young, educated, and attractive.

If you are going to prostitute yourself, why do it at work? If you still have to show up and work an 8+ hour day, wouldn't it make more sense to make a career of it and actually make more money? If you are an attractive women and you work a couple of weeks a year, wouldn't you work far less and make way more in a career switch.. I'm just wondering..
 
Just to be clear, I doubt it's as common as your question may suggest.

But some people take shortcuts. It's the same reason that intelligent students at prestigious universities cheat. It's the same reason people embezzle. They thing they can work within the system and break the rules "just a little" to gain an edge.

Often they can.

It comes down to lack of values.
 
I've only met two women who ever slept with the boss for promotions or favoritism. Both girls pissed me off mightily and I had no respect for their position. As for the rest of the women I know who got promotions, they did it WITHOUT sleeping with the bosses. Not all women do this. And those who do usually receive the least amount of respect.

Besides, every time a woman sleeps with a boss doesn't mean its about promotions or favoritism. I had a brief fling with one of my bosses in the military and we were both VERY clear that there would be no favoritism or special treatment. 1) Because I didn't want it and 2) Our fling was so not legal (I was enlisted, he was a warrant officer) and there's no faster way for such a relationship to get caught than to get special treatment. I dated him because I liked HIM, not his position. It was an unfortunate fact that he was my boss. I would have liked/dated him even if he hadn't been my boss.
