Its possible, but you would probably know it as there would most likely still be sound, but many weird noises i.e. buzzing or rasping. Your problem is more likely that there is a short somewhere along the line, or just faulty wiring. It also may be that a wire popped lose, or a plug came loose. Unless you are very good with electronics I would just recogmend taking it to an electronics specialist to have it checked out, becuase they are very good at what they do, and you dont want to accidently electrocute yourself. If the sub is simply not worth all of this trouble/cost just get a new one.
