Why did Liberals wait until AFTER Bush Sr.'s school address to start complaining?

because bush sr. was not a bad president compared to jr. and now your messiah, who is an even bigger moron than jr.

but I commend obama to think highly of himself to think that he will convince his black children to do better in public schools.

this guy does have a cult following no matter what he does.

You mean these liberals?

House Democrats criticized President Bush yesterday for using Education Department funds to produce and broadcast a speech that he made Tuesday at a Northwest Washington junior high school.

The Democratic critics accused Bush of turning government money for education to his own political use, namely, an ongoing effort to inoculate himself against their charges of inattention to domestic issues. The speech at Alice Deal Junior High School, broadcast live on radio and television, urged students to study hard, avoid drugs and turn in troublemakers.

"The Department of Education should not be producing paid political advertising for the president, it should be helping us to produce smarter students," House Majority Leader Richard A. Gephardt (D-Mo.) said. "And the president should be doing more about education than saying, 'Lights, camera, action.' "

Two House committees demanded that the department explain the use of its funds for the speech, an explanation that Deputy Secretary David T. Kearns provided late in the day in a letter to Rep. William D. Ford (D-Mich.), chairman of the House Education and Labor Committee. Education Secretary Lamar Alexander was out of town.

I heard a old news clip of a senator from Missouri, Gepherd was his last name I think, complaining about Bush the elder's speech.

It sounded like it was before the speech was made, he used future context when talking about the speech.

It's a magician's comparative meant to diminish the right hands actions while the left hand is doing something else and the same old song and dance whenever we complain about Obama's TRILLION dollar spending vice Bush's BILLION dollar spending and why we didn't complain then. The difference between what any President's address in history and Obama's speech is a LESSON GUIDE submitted for the teachers (whose union endorsed Obama in the campaign). Another favorite argument is the students are "already being brainwashed" so they argue in our favor! The main problem is that liberals think they are RIGHT and we all have to be "open-minded" to their points of view ONLY while denying ours as racist or kool-aid.

Typical hypocrisy. Notice now that the Whitehouse has changed hands the liberals have gone silent about the war. They no longer even have a concern about our expanded intervention and rising death rate in Afghanistan.

That is why I left the democratic party. They are dilettantes who are more concerned about their "cause of the day" that they are about the people they claim to help.

Because he didn't have "How can you best help Dear Leader?" as part of the curriculum distributed in anticipation of the speech.

Apparently they didn't care if he rewrote it before giving it to the students, which is keeping with the liberal practice of doing things that don't actually make a positive effect on anything. Its called being pro-active instead of reactive. They were quite aware of the homework assignment that they objected to, prior to the speech.

Because the content in his address was something worth complaining about.

Why did conservatives complain before Obama made his address but not before Bush did?
