Why can't Canadians have their own language/culture?

I mean beyond statehood and independence and everything Canada currently stands for, why can't there be this:

"We speak Canadian, we eat Canadian food, we like Canadian music (And this doesn't mean celtic or Scottish or techno-fusion but a new genre called 'CANADIAN' that you would turn on and say immediately "This is the CANADIAN Genre!"

And Tim Hortons would need to become more Canadian also.

Like when you think of Mexican anything, it has its own ethnic vibe. Canada has a diversity of ethnic influences and arguably Quebec is the most cultural in cuisine and dialect.

But why can't there be a "CANADIAN" language beyond the stereotype phrases and vowel pronunciations? I mean a whole new language called 'Canadian'
And Canada would be a race also.

So like you can ask someone are you

"White, Asian, Latino, Black, Indian, Native/Pacific Islander, Or Canadian?

Because there is no such thing... Canada (and the US) are immigrant countries. Until the Europeans settled here, being North American meant the natives. So.. If you really want to be Canadian, learn to speak Cree, hunt buffalo and wear moccasins (etc.).

You're right - Mexico has it's own ethic vibe. Mexicans are native to Mexico. Canadians are native to European countries. Our vibe is that of multiculturalism.

Speak Canadian? You obviously have not heard anyone from Newfoundland!

Just kidding, Uncle Mike! I love your accent...honest! ;-)

I have my browser set to "Canadian". While sure, it is a derivative of English...its nice to not get misspell lines under words like colour, toque, and the like.

That would be awesome, I'm Canadian too. But I think that us Canadians are too busy drinking beer to learn a new language! (just kidding, going along with the stereotype lol)
Canada rocks hardcore :)

because we have decided to be a melting pot... it's true! i agree with what you are saying. Did you know that Canada ranked highest in the percent of people who have pride for other countries? sad?... yes, but there is nothing we can do about it now...
