and before you make assumptions that I am Canadian, I am afraid to say I am English not from canada
"Another Yahoo" judging by you're answer it is obvious you are not a Canadian, these are typical unintelligent answers that I see all the time, yawn... ps bet you have never left America have you ;)
"Munkstump's" thank you for amusing and entertaining me with you're answer which lacked credibility and actual facts! don't even get me started on you're Hospital health care which deprives many of basic human health care rights! we have plenty of heart surgeons over here and if we need ops as quick as possible we have optional private health care which is quite affordable so we have no need to go to America, we have world specialist leading heart surgeons over here so why o we need to go to america? simple answer we don't!

Better traveled: Because more Canadians go to America than Americans go to Canada. Why is this? Because most Canadians are in the southern regions of their country, along the border w/ the US, while Americans are spread throughout the country. In other words, most Canadians are close to the US but, relatively speaking, many americans are not close to CA.

Honestly, I have never heard of any of my American friends who spend years abroad talking about Canadian friends. Australian, English, German, French, Italian friends among others? Ye.

Also, I'm not saying international travel doesn't kick ass, but the US is a huge frigging place w/ a lot of geographical diversity in the different regions, and you could spend your entire life traveling it and have plenty left to see IMO.

Education: One thing one guy said:
"The countries that economically are very diverse, with big immigrant populations, with lots of moving around, with a huge poverty gap, probably are going to show these sorts of results with education itself."

We got a lot of people coming in from all over, I would be overoptimistic to say we are doing the best we can for them, but it's not easy even if we were OK? Note that the two top education countries (Japan and Korea) are far more homogeneous and have less to deal w/ in terms of language barriers.

Of course there are many very well educated, well travelled Americans but we tend to notice the truly ignorant ones the most. I personally will never forget the fellow in Arizona who noticed my Quebec plates and told me I was stupid to bring my own car across the ocean when I could have easily rented one.

I think we are better educated because education and health care are priorities for most Canadians. We pay huge taxes without too much complaint to have more school days a year and better qualified teachers than most states, and affordable Universities. Two years ago, I heard a radio advertising for a school in Florida that promises to "capture your Child's heart for Christ before we capture his mind". Most Canadians would find that frightening.

I imagine we travel more because we know more about the world and we want to see the things we've learned about.
