If you rode one you wouldn't be asking this you would know right away. The bike will just feel tighter, feel liter, brake better, shift better, and last a lot longer. The bearings in the wheels will allow to coast while others have to pedal to keep up. The shocks actually work and aren't there for looks. I know it's hard to understand why they cost so much more but it's in the quality of the parts. You don't need to spend $700 to get a good bike.
