Why are the advantages of owning an expensive bike?

I'm trying to get back into shape and I've been cycling for exercise. I have a Walmart bought Schwinn I got for around $170. What would the advantages of owning a bike that cost around $700 (or more) be?

If you rode one you wouldn't be asking this you would know right away. The bike will just feel tighter, feel liter, brake better, shift better, and last a lot longer. The bearings in the wheels will allow to coast while others have to pedal to keep up. The shocks actually work and aren't there for looks. I know it's hard to understand why they cost so much more but it's in the quality of the parts. You don't need to spend $700 to get a good bike.

$700 is cheap for a road bike ! Check out a Pinarello Prince for about $9,000+ ! It's all about quality. You get what you pay for. Better bikes are lighter and more easy to ride.Quality is also better.

People can write a long thesis about the difference between cheap and better bikes, but it all boils down to this: Everything about a better bike works better and lasts longer. You can ride longer and faster on a better bike.
