...culture terminology? emo? scene? Seriously, it's really disheartening.
if your name is april, then your name should be april..
not SCENEZZZZ0R 4PR1L!!! PEACESIGNEMOLOVE!!!

Whatever happened to marching to the beat of your own drum?
being who YOU are, not a finalized idea of what you CAN and SHOULD be as defined by peers?

ughhhh.
check out the "why" at the beginning of the question.

typically, when a sentence structure starts out with a "why", "what", "how", "when", "where", "who"
and such, it is generally a question.
LOL since when is being 18 years old OLD?!!?!

goodjob.

I agree 100% and I see it everywhere. Myspace, Facebook, Even at school. The preps wear the shirts that says HOLLISTER OR ABERCROMBIE on them which I find to be extremely stupid. The emos wear all black and stay away from everyone else and they hate things that everyone likes which I also find to be stupid. Scene people are annoying but it'll be over in 6 months.

To answer the question i guess it's for them to find somewhere to belong. Instead of being an individual (which seems to be long gone now-a-days) they want to be in a certain social setting or group or whatever. I find it to be extremely annoying when people label themselves. I am 15 and I don't label myself I choose to be an individual and I wear certain clothes because I like it not because everyone else is wearing it. I act the way I would act at school if I were at home. People call me by my name Sue-Ann and not SueannSuicide or whatever lol.. I know that eventually they would all grow out of it and look back and think how stupid they were or embarrassed that they were like that.
