I recently went on a cruise through the Costa Cruise line and noticed that a lot of the Italians did a strange thing when waiting in line... they would continue pressing their tray or their hands up against my back as if to push for the line the move forward, even when the line wasn't moving at all!
I don't want to say this was rude, because obviously I was on an Italian cruise, and as they say... when in rome. But by American standards this seems like an invasion of personal space, was this typical behavior or was I missing a subtle cultural cue?
