I'd hate to bring another list thread into this forum, but I can't get this topic off my mind. I am trying to get a list of characters of different shows whose senses of style (aka the clothing they wear) are eerily similar. Here are some I can think of off the top of my mind:
1. Babs Bunny (Tiny Toon Adventures)/Lizzie Devine (Codename: Kids Next Door)
Has anyone else ever noticed that these two ladies wear similar yellow shirts and purple mini-skirts? This reminds me that someone at DeviantArt had posted a pic of the TTA cast dressed as KND characters (If the artist of that piece is reading this, take my advice: give Babs the role of Lizzie and give the role of Numbah 3 to Fifi!).
Conclusion: COINCIDENCE. I highly doubt Tom (Warburton) was influenced by Tiny Toons when designing his character's wardrobe, as there are some elements of Lizzie's outfit that Babs would NEVER wear, such as the prominent 1970's-style Elton John-like circular-framed glasses, not to mention the cyan "patch" on her shirt. And Babs' "regular" outfit never comprised of any footwear (she only wore shoes on a few occasions).
2. Isabella (Phinneas and Ferb)/Helga Pataki (Hey Arnold!)
This is the most ballant toon clothing ripoff I've ever seen. Isabella may not have Helga's split personality, but the clothing seems to be the only connection.
CONCLUSION: UNCONFIRMED. I say unconfirmed because I am a little bit unfarmiliar with P&F, seeing as it is so new, but maybe there is some background information I am unaware of at this time. Maybe P&F's creator(s) worked on HA and the similarities in Isabella's and Helga's wardrobe is a "gag" reference. But does Craig Bartlett and Nickelodeon know about this?
Contributions are welcome, please follow the above format I have established, and in your conclusion, state whether the similarities are INTENTION, COINCIDENCE or UNCONFIRMED.
