"Who's Your Tailor? I Live That Outfit!"

I'd hate to bring another list thread into this forum, but I can't get this topic off my mind. I am trying to get a list of characters of different shows whose senses of style (aka the clothing they wear) are eerily similar. Here are some I can think of off the top of my mind:

1. Babs Bunny (Tiny Toon Adventures)/Lizzie Devine (Codename: Kids Next Door)
Has anyone else ever noticed that these two ladies wear similar yellow shirts and purple mini-skirts? This reminds me that someone at DeviantArt had posted a pic of the TTA cast dressed as KND characters (If the artist of that piece is reading this, take my advice: give Babs the role of Lizzie and give the role of Numbah 3 to Fifi!).

Conclusion: COINCIDENCE. I highly doubt Tom (Warburton) was influenced by Tiny Toons when designing his character's wardrobe, as there are some elements of Lizzie's outfit that Babs would NEVER wear, such as the prominent 1970's-style Elton John-like circular-framed glasses, not to mention the cyan "patch" on her shirt. And Babs' "regular" outfit never comprised of any footwear (she only wore shoes on a few occasions).

2. Isabella (Phinneas and Ferb)/Helga Pataki (Hey Arnold!)
This is the most ballant toon clothing ripoff I've ever seen. Isabella may not have Helga's split personality, but the clothing seems to be the only connection.

CONCLUSION: UNCONFIRMED. I say unconfirmed because I am a little bit unfarmiliar with P&F, seeing as it is so new, but maybe there is some background information I am unaware of at this time. Maybe P&F's creator(s) worked on HA and the similarities in Isabella's and Helga's wardrobe is a "gag" reference. But does Craig Bartlett and Nickelodeon know about this?

Contributions are welcome, please follow the above format I have established, and in your conclusion, state whether the similarities are INTENTION, COINCIDENCE or UNCONFIRMED.

Hmmm.....I don't really know how to respond to this thread. However, on a similar vein, I had noticed that on the 2nd season of Hey, Arnold!, that Arnold's new teacher, Mr. Simmons, wore an outfit remarkably similar to that of Doug Funnie's from Doug (short sleeved white shirt, green vest and tan pants). Of Doug was also airing on Nickelodeon at the time. I've always wondered whether or not that was a coincidence.

I remember somewhere in Pokemon, there was a picture of Ash when he was younger with his mom and I think Professor Oak. Ash is wearing the exact same shirt as Eddy from Ed, Edd, n Eddy. Is the kind of shirt that Eddy wears suppose to be a referance to something

I don't think their styles are exactly alike. While Babs wears a purple skirt, Lizzie has denim blue shorts. She's also plain, wears glasses, and is a bit on the chubby side. Between the two, Babs would be the sexier character even though she's a rabbit and Lizzie's human.

A pair of characters with similar styles would be Buster Bunny (TTA) and Huey Duck (DuckTales) as both wear red-colored shirts. I guess you could also include Numbuh 1 (KND) although his outfit includes shorts, boots, and his cool shades. Also notice that trios (groups of 3) in various series seem to have about the same color scheme. Among them would be DuckTales with Huey, Dewey, and Louie (red, blue, and green), Alvin and the Chipmunks (he, Simon, and Theodore in the same respective scheme), and The Powerpuff Girls (Here, Blossom in pink, Bubbles powder blue, and Buttercup in light green). Other characters with a similar color pattern would be Daphne Blake (Scooby-Doo) and Jane Jetson as both have orange-red hair and wear purple-colored outfits.

OK, I'd like to make it clear to you that I am only talking (partially) about the way they dress. I originally thought that Lizzie's "Shorts," as you call them, looked like a tight-fitting mini-skirt. Around the time I last watched KND, probably my TV's tint setting were not properly adjusted, but I had claimed to see the shade of Babs' skirt on Lizzie's.

Anyway, though not necessarily (supposedly) inspired by another toon, mentioned earlier that Lizzie's glasses, with their circular frames, evoke the style of THIS MAN--which reminds me of something (WARNING: Drifting OT):

==============================================================

I am going to say this to the public for the first time, but Lizzie is responsible for giving me the impulse to collect the (vinyl) records of the man in the photo I just posted (I will not mention names, though I already did, but fellow fans of this person know who I'm talking about!). I don't know what it was about him and Lizzie, but there was a magical bond. The commercial breaks for each show she showed up in was not without one of this man's hits songs (predominantly hit singles from the 1970's) in MY fandom! I had claimed that Lizzie was a very die-hard fan of this person (seriously, he was quite literally like an "alternate Nigel" to her, claiming to have found some of this man's English charms in Numbah One!), and she would react to his on-stage appearance like the hens did to the Sinatra-caricature rooster in the Looney Tune Swooner Crooner (1944), and interestingly enough, he was more popular than any other pop star at the time, and no other artist at the time delivered more hits than him. Originally, I had planned ahead for 22 songs (as that was the number of hit singles this person produced), but sadly only fourtteen got used!

OKAY!! I said it once and I can only avoid saying his name for so long---This fandom is what's known as the "Elton John-Lizzie Devine" Fandom (though it was called a "Policy" in the days before the last LD appearance)---which explains the "EJLD" in my user name! If you are interested in learning a bit more about the EJLD Fandom, please PM me!

Anyways, getting back on topic, my point is: Characters' clothing styles can have a number of inspirations, as I have pointed out
