who doesn't really like the Saw films?

Seriously I think it rude of you to ask what am I on about? Especially as someone else has agreed with me.

I have watched the Saw films perhaps I find them somewhat blase and under examined and explained enough to detail.

I remember watching Hellraiser and the sequel and did'nt have this problem at all with those films and found them to be much more concise in its story and direction.

I don't understand how people can like them to be honest. They are brainless and silly.

Saw was entertaining; it was original and different (it has Cary Elwes aswell) :p

Saw 2 was horse crap.

Saw 3, I only saw the start, but it was horse crap.

Saw 4, I only saw the last half hour, but it was horse crap.

Saw 5, I haven't watched but was probably horse crap.

Saw 6, same as the above.

Saw 3D, I'll be going to watch, because 1) It's in 3D and I want to see some gore. 2) It has Cary Elwes and 3) I have an Unlimited card.

I like Saw as I am a sucker for a bit of film gore.

1 & 2 were good, but things started to go downhill from 3 onwarRAB, reaching a low point with Saws 4 & 5, only picking back up with Saw 6.

I'm really hoping Saw 3D gives the franchise the send off it deserves & erases the memory of some of the poorer sequels.

Well, sorry if i came across as rude, but if you read my spoiler post you'll see that the thing you were complaining about isn't really a valid complaint seeing as it is explained in detail throughout the films how and why Jigsaw chooses his victims and apprentices. It's what the sequels are all about.

Granted, it's not exactly a believable method of recruiting multiple apprentices, but we're talking about horror films here, a genre where killers like Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees survive being killed in each consecutive film. You're supposed to suspend your disbelief, if you can't do that then the films are obviously not for you.

Again, sorry if i seemed rude.

Apology accepted

Perhaps you are right that they are not for me I don't find them clever enough. I find them rather mediocre Hellraiser was clever and a well executed horror.

I am not a great horror fan tbh but I do appreciate a well thought out story and plot. Each to their own though.:)

Saw 2 is better than Saw 1. Saw 1 is a tad boring, Saw 3 just came to a stanRABtill where i thought okay, he can kill people in gory ways, and make it intresting, I've seen that, what can you do now.

Was gonna watch saw 4 last night but didn't, and it's 7 pounRAB in HMV and number 5 is 18 pounRAB so i don't fancy watching them any time soon.

I rented Saw on DVD, got bored after a bit and started hopping through till I got to the end (only to find out what happened)

Didn't bother with the rest of them.

I find real life depressing/horrifying enough, if I'm going to watch a movie I want to forget my troubles for a couple of hours ...

Yet you can sit through the ideas. That silly excuse is just the same for people who can watch the films. Just because someone thinks up these things doesn't make them dangerous or any more likely to go out and commit these sort of things than someone who doesn't use their imagination in that way.

Not seen any of them nor know what they are about. How would you sum up the films - what are they about? Are they about a saw wielding madman?

I like them, although 4 - 7 was unnecessary and extremely convoluted.Melton and Dunstan weren't a patch on Leigh Whannel and his superior trilogy. People say the increasingly far fetched nature of the franchise simply comes down to suspension of disbelief, but I call it lazy writing. What it has over other horror series, such as Friday the 13th,Halloween and NOES,is continuity and respect for the fans.

I think there will be another Saw movie, eventually.Lionsgate have overexposed the formula but their crime-extreme horror brand is a surefire money maker. It's also easy to write a follow up to Saw3D,even though it does finally wrap up the Jigsaw story. The traps are an audience pleaser and going back to it's roots (e.g slowburning, believable psychological thriller with gore and a twist) would renew interest for it's tenth anniversary.

You've heard it here first - Saw:The Rebirth (October 31,2014) :D

They can be quite hard to follow at times , you'll often get flashback scenes to something 2 or 3 movies ago , which is ok if you've seen them all recently but otherwise ...

I like them and I don't really like torture-porn , but I like the dillemmas , and the twists which are pretty good .

For me it's another case of originally interesting horror series stained by ridiculous sequels, and a ludicrous ongoing plot that screams 'lets keep this gravy train going as long as possible, because these movies only cost $10 million to make, but gross $150 million'. The funniest thing about the series is they killed off their best character in like the 3rd one so they keep shoe-horning in ever tenuous flashbacks to have an excuse to feaure him.

They say the latest one is the final one........no it isn't. They'll announce a series of prequels, spin oRAB etc.
