Who Do You Think Will "Win" The War?

Nintendo has the Wii, cheap, brings the family together, innovative controls, but only slightly improved visuals.

Microsoft has the Xbox 360, wonderful online system and next generation visuals in HD, but is having a few problems still.

Sony has the Ps3. Said to be the most powerful, has Blue-Ray, but is pricey and having quite a few problems right now.

Who will "win" ???
 
I don't think we're going to see a clear cut "domination" this round of consoles..

I think we're going to see 3 consoles that each have their own strong suits and a large fanbase... I think we're also going to see alot of people owning (and using) all 3 systems.
 
Depending on your favorite genre of games, that's probably the best way to do it. Actually, either combo of one of the HD systems plus a Wii is your best bet. The Wii is much different from either of the other systems and a breathe of fresh air. On the other hand, people are still going to want to play the classics that have grown on us all such as either Halo or Metal Gear Solid.
 
I agree with most of that. But keep in mind that all the systems are still fairly new, so when developers finally figure out how to design games for the Wii, the games are going to keep getting better and better. Having said that, the same goes for the PS3 and still yet, even the 360. My point in case is that it's still very, very early in the race and it's going to depend on how 1st and 3rd party support handles the system with their respective games.
 
The Wii will not win the war, it doesn't output in HD, the graphics suck, and it doesn't even have a DVD player on it. It's a gimmick console who's edge will wear off quickly. The Wii shouldn't even be on this poll, it's not a next gen console.

Right now the 360 has the edge, but they are still have a lot of failures. I've been hearing a lot of reports of new production 360's having more issues than launch units, a bunch of them are dying within 2-3 months of use. If Microsoft can ever get these fixed, they will be the favorite to win the next gen war.

I have no doubt the PS3 is a good machine, but the price is a huge boat anchor that is going to drag it down. Depending on what your local sales tax rate is you are talking ~ $650 or so for the 60 gig model with no accessories or games, most casual gamers aren't going to pay that. For those bitching about the games, it hasn't even been out for 2 months yet, so shut up.

Right now, I'd vote for the 360 to win, but if they don't get their shit together soon they might fall out of the race too.
 
What type of war are you talking about? The Wii may win the sales war (not that it has yet), but the hard-core gamers will tend to flock to the PS3 and 360; and the REALLY hard-core gamers will stick to PCs. It's really a silly subject to debate. But the Wii is good at what it does, and it doesn't pretend to try and compete on a 360/PS3 gaming level. From what I'm seeing, the real choice is between the PS3 and 360, most will end up buying a Wii just because it's cheap.
 
That's the point of the Wii. They purposely didn't make it HD capable because they wanted to make it cheaper... And your comment about DVD. Do you really not have a DVD player now that you need one in your video game console?
