Honestly, the question you ask is too debatable. Each bike is very reliable and has been around for a long time. So, either one you choose, will not be a bad choice. However, me personally, I went with the Ninja 500R. I think, even without full fairing, this bike looks better. It also has a little more low end torque. Both bikes are considered great for beginners and you will not get bored with it anytime soon.
