which state has the most culture?

Which state in the United States has the most culture? By this I mean diversity...rich culture....you know? At first I was thinking California....but then i was starting to think New Jersey was a better choice, (at least for culture)......Any suggestions?
Yes but NYC is only a small portion of new york city....People from NJ/Connecticut area know the NYC city life better than those who live in Upstate NY....thats why i can't really count NYC....
 
California does have a lot of culture, but a lot of bigotry and, racism from all races to go along with it. I would have to go with New Jersey, New York and, Virginia.
