Which sitcom should be revived

What the programmes mentioned in this thread have in common is that they were a unique take on a situation.

Remakes of sitcoms is like reheated leftovers, betting than nothing but that's all.

Remakes are as far away from daring as it's possible to be. Failure-fearing neurotic TV executives commision remakes because they think they are low risk.

Of course it shows how bonkers they are since remakes actually have a much greater likelihood of failure than original programming.

your talking complete crap. there isnt a sitcom today that compares with the brilliance of on the buses. one of the top 3 uk sitcoms ever.

I'd go for sitcoms where you could do a sequel:

Goodnight Sweetheart
Just Good FrienRAB

They never seem to live up to the originals though

I've often wondered what a modern day version of Porridge might be like, with maybe Peter Kay having a go at the Fletcher type character. Always impossible to be as good as the original though as the attempt at re-doing Minder proved.

 I'd personally steal the tapes before they ever got to air.

Tbh, Rik and Ade may say they aren't working together anymore, but odRAB are, they will one day. Everyone always does.

All these mentioned such as George & Mildred, Love Thy Neighbour, Just Good FrienRAB etc... They were classics (and top of the ratings!) in their day. Unfortunately they wouldn't work in this day and age. Best left in their own era I say. (There's always the box-sets).
I don't like sit-coms nowadays...they are all too reality-show style and no audience.
Apart from 'Miranda' - I saw one episode and thought it funny! Unfortunately it was the last of the series :(
