Which is a better sub? Infinity, rockford fosgate, mtx, kenwood?

I have some kenwood subs but they are not hitting as loud as I'd like. I am not sure what would be a sub that I can be satisfied with because I don't know much about brands, I for sure know that JL's would do the job but are way out of my budget and I am not sure if I can trust the reviews on the subs that I have found so I'd like to know from someone who owns, or has worked with subs like the one's I have named, thank you.
 
What model are the subs? What amp do you have (brand and model)? Maybe you just need a bigger amp. If you want good output for less money, go with some Kicker CVRs in a ported box. RF subs are not what they used to be. MTX 9500 series is bad-ass. I don't know about Infinity subs, as i have never heard them in a box.
