Which films did you NOT want to see.. then were pleasantly surprised!

Pirates of the Carribean, my boyfriend loves it and really wanted to go to the cinema to see the second one, so he made me watch the first one, i expected to hate it, but loved it and couldn't wait to see the second! (Obviously Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom helped a bit!!!)

Monster House!

We went to get out of the rain and pass time 'til dinner reservations...

Fantastic film, utterly creepy! lots of families had to leave with their sobbing kiddies! hehehe!

Batman Begins with Christian Bale. Really do not like these type of films, but it happened to be on Sky the other week and got totally engrossed in it.

Zathura
Lassie (the 2005 version)
Eight Below

I very reluctantly took my children to see these. I was so not looking forward to watching them, especially Lassie, I even took my MP3 player. However, I loved them all and they now take pride of place in my DVD collection. Great family films which I can just watch again and again.

Donnie Darko - My firend bougt it for me for Christmas, and i just looked at the cover and thought it would be some dodgy film bought on special offer!
How wrong i was. Excellent film....Good film choice by my mate!

Also agree about Mean Girls, great film!

Mean Girls-Thought it looked fairly funny but that the best bits would obviously be in the Trailer but the whole film was hilarious

Same with Legally Blonde but now i love both 1 and 2 lol

Shaun of the Dead - a family member received it last year for Christmas, so on Boxing Day they put it on. I thought it was going to be rubbish, but I laughed so much my sides hurt.

My husband thought the same of Bridget Jones when I dragged him along to the first film, but he really enjoyed it and recommended it to all the guys at his work. Unfortunately neither of us could say the same for the second film.

Lucky Number Slevin. Watched that last night, was really impressed.... after seeing the trailers in cinemas when it was out, I thought it looked rubbish. Still don't actually know why I rented it, glad I did though.

Fight Club - I expected standard Hollywood mindless violence.

Men In Black - Saw it in the states before any of the hype hit the UK, so it was great and completely out of the blue

The Benchwarmers - I had tears streaming down my face because it was so funny.

Hard Candy - Wasn't keen on seeing it because of the subject matter as well as me expecting it to be gratuitous. It was superb though.

Quite a few Japanese samurai films recently including Shogun Assassin - a mate is really into these and they are MUCH better than I expected.

I thought that a film about football hooligans would really wind me up and refused to watch the Football Factory with my boyfriend for ages but I actually got quite into and enjoyed it.

Didn't really wanna see Bend it like Beckham, but we had to watch it at school, and I actually really liked it.
Derailed...a friend chose it, really not my thing at all, but thought it was brilliant.

Oh and Finding Nemo, thought it looked rubbish, my brother bought it and made me watch it with him, and I LOVED it!
