African American emphasis on AMERICAN! Dating a guy from Democratic Republic of Congo taught me to appreciate being American.

african american, caribbean, afro latino, african, etc...

I am African American and I literally identify more with caribbean culture such as foods, music, dance, and the majority of my black friends being caribbean. I think it is because Most of the black people i grew up with are from the Islands or afro latino's so they had a major influenced me.
envy mclovin black american or african american not nigerian-ethiopian-ugandan, etc american if you know what i mean. They are different.
envy yup. there is a diff between ghanian musica and african americana music (rnb, soul, hip hop, jazz) if you catch my drift. they both have diff cultures as well.
envy are u confused? i said african american, african, afro latino, caribbean, etc not sure what u talkin bout now.

Which Afro latino culture
Which carribean culture
Which African culture

The only notable culture outside African American culture is Jamacian. Afro-latinos just want to be white spainards..No one practices African culture in the U.S., not even Africans.

I'd say African American and Afro-Latin culture equally.

Since I am both, I identify with both. I grew up in a household learning about Latin culture and African American culture.

African. There's no such think as 'African American' culture.

***I know what you mean, but anything with the word American attached to it does not sound like it has any kind of cultural value. And what exactly would Ghanaian-American be, for example? Would it be a watered down version of Ghanaian culture?

***So now you're saying that there IS such thing as African American culture? Make your mind up already.

carribean, and i am not ghetto.
im one of them black girls that are nice and sweet and people say "you aint black." but when you p*ss me off thats when the black girl in me approaches.
