Where to Buy Nokia E71-3 Thread!

Probably the same mistake that all other sellers did at the beginning saying that it has 850/2100 3G when it does not. Must email them first and check what the box of the phone says and for that price even if they have it I would never buy it. Thanks for the link. Looks like no one has this phone yet.

I have searched and asked all australian ebay sellers and none of them have it. Well at least last week, 2 weeks ago ... The one seller who said he would try and get information has not got back to me yet. :crying:

from what i have read the 1900 3g is barely used. 1900 band does not handle high capacity as well as 850 (3g or not), thats why they are concentrating on the 850 band for 3g. it makes sense that if both bands are available in the same location and one is saturated with users you will be bumped to the other frequency, but it looks like we will be using 850 much more.

A seller on eBay just told me that the -3 version will be released around the same time as the -2. Can anyone confirm? I think I've seen a lot of sellers listing their e-71 compatible with HSDPA 850/2100 mhz.

Oh there's no doubt that 850 is the main band for 3G. I'm not questioning that at all. When Rogers initially tested 3G on the 1900 band, they never got eliminated 3G in that band. It's a backup incase 850 gets saturated with users. But I'll ask again tomorrow because this was awhile back when I was told this. Things might've changed by now.

Sorry maybe I was unclear. I bought my i-mate 8502 from them so I was saying they know what they're doing generally. I don't know if their E71 is a -1 or -3.

I too want an e71-3. I own an e51 which uses the 850/2100 bands and it has served me very well in the U.S. and Asia. In fact, in many US cities, I get a blazing and strong 3.5G connection. Thanks to the 2100 band, my e51 also works in Japan. I think this site world mobile frequencies is pretty good at displaying what bands are in use and where. fyi.
I spoke directly with Nokia in the UK yesterday about availability of the E71-3. They told me it was only being shipped to Asia. I confirmed with Telstra and one other Australian online mobile store and they DO NOT have E71-3 and say they WILL NOT have them. Mysteriously, the only E71 displayed on the Nokia-Hong Kong site is not the e71-3---Nokia-Japan does not even show an e71 for sale and the Nokia-China site only displays in Chinese so I don't know what is/is not there.
I'm a phone junkie- pound for pound, the Nokia e51 has been the best phone I've ever owned. I only hope all the trouble finding an e71-3 is worth it.
Anyway, my two cents.

I recall hearing that Australia uses yet another 3G frequency, separate and distinct from the European and North American frequencies. Could the -3 be for Australia?

Anyone know of the site trade1trade.com? Has these very reasonable with a two year contract, but a very convoluted way to get them. Just wondering if they are legit.

The E71-1 was released in Australia 3 weeks ago for Vodafone and Optus who use mainly the 2100 band, but in future will be using the 900 band in rural areas.

The E71-3 will be released exclusively by Telstra In Australia (who knows when though) who use 850 all across the country and 2100 in the capital cities.
