He hasn't shown up on the Gulf coast to help clean up the oil or to help the people or anything? None of the regulars have done anything. WTF is going on?

honestly, there's no point using hyperbolic absurdity to try to draw a contrast for him. it just doesn't work, he'll never understand it. I've done it like four different times in the last two days, and nothing.

Because there are bigger things at stake. This isn't about teaching someone a lesson anymore.

And what's the difference here.

I'll give you a hint. Littering is generally illegaly and punishable by fines, but generally not enforced or enforcable. You're helping because we don't know who to hold responsible.

Pollution in this case comes from one direct source that we can fine and hold responsible for cleaning it up.

Selfish?

It's called Responsibility. Grow up you democrat. We have laws for these sorts of infractions and accordingly BP is being held responsible for their littering.

Do you take time off work to head over to your local chemical company and offer to help them dispose of hazardous waste or clean up any messes they have? No....because it's their responsibility...aka not your job.

Yes your opinion in this thread is the model of responsibility.

Why aren't others cleaning up the mess of the company responsible?

WHY!?!

I'd dare to say that the people of the affected gulf coast region are helping. I've seen them on TV doing just that.

If your goal is to stop companies from polluting the environment.
Why would you help the company that's polluting the environment clean it up?

The best course is to let them be responsible and drain their funds (if that's your view).

If I didn't have to pay BP to drive my vehicle 6hrs one way to get to where cleanup is needed....

My goal is not to stop companies from polluting. My goal is to clean up this accident and so that it's economic impact is lessened as much as possible.

Accidents will happen, you'll never stop them all. That's the problem with the libs...they think that more legislation and/or litigation will stop accidents from happening. They are fools.

Right and your goal isn't the same as people who often protest environmental damage and raise funds to help or clean up things.

he saw it on TV, therefore he is obviously qualified to make sweeping judgments about millions of people and their lives

That makes sense. Using gas to go help would be hypocritical. Besides, they were just there 5 years ago and the place was a shit hole.

Do you guys just hate me so much that you will argue anything as long as it's against what I'm saying?
