...do you only welcome the "correct" type of wildlife??
I don't think you can pick and choose what you feed, I mean sure you can get rodent proof bird feeders and such but on the whole if your feeding the fauna in your area you can't get cross at other wildlife chowing down??
My neighbour is shooting the crows in my area because they pulled down a blackbird nest in his tree...bad for the blackbirds but...isn't that what happens in the wild??
I have chickens and the crows often help themselves to a bit of chicken food..but in return they keep raptors away from the chickens, so I can live with that.
What do you think? Is he right for taking revenge on an animal doing what it does, or am I right for saying you should either vermin proof your feeders or deal with it?
EDIT: Bub, crows keep hawks and other raptors away from their own nests by chasing them away ergo, they stay away from my chickens....and we are not talking about rats and mice, crows do not constitute a health hazard to humans. And when I had mice I bought a cat. Its a case of striking a balance.
