Whats your fave "Carry On" movie?

Carry on Abroad - where they go to a hotel in els Bels which is still being built.

I remember going to a Spanish hotel in the early seventies where they were still building it.

And the catfight with the local Spanish madam always cracks me up.

I think if I were introducing someone to the Carry On's and wanted a prime example of the series to start them off on, I would show them:

1) Up The Khyber
2) Doctor
3) Camping

Infamy, infamy! They've all got it in for me - has to be the greatest quote ever.........and Amanda Barrie was worryingly sexy too

Wasn't she selected by Prince Phillip's mate James Robertson Justice as a suitable girl for Prince Charles to ahem learn the ins and outs of sex with? (she declined)

Mine is Carry On Screaming - it's my Mum's as well.

Harry H Corbett was a perfect fit and I loved the fact that every time he pulled up in a horse and cart they played the Steptoe & Son theme music :D

The dvd's are as good as you can get on dvd.
Bluray would be lovely for some of the more colourful films.

Unfortunately the rights to the films are split between 2 companies .

The fact there was ever a dvd box with all of them in was nothing short of a miracle - maybe they can do it for the Carry On films.

Psycho just came out on Bluray and is another sterling example of how good black and white can look so perhaps they can start from Sergeant

Agree with the above but not Screaming, I'm afraid.

Some of the character names make me chuckle :-

Sir Sidney Ruff-Diamond
The Khasi of Kalabar
Bungdit Din
Private Ginger Hale
Brother Belcher
The Fakir
Sir Rodney Ffing
Duc de Pommfrit
Citizen Camembert

she is now apparently. I think the Prince Charles story came from her too. Didn't they meet at some recent charity do?

Google tells me the story was in the Sunday Mirror, though I think I read it in a newspaper :) Apparently she was chosen because she had a sense of humour. Charles was 15 at the time, the lucky dog.

Wonder who they got instead?

Screaming. Purely for the scene where Sgt Bung has been given Mr Hyde formula by Dr Watt and when he gets home, his missus fails to notice and just carries on giving him earache!

I'm a huge "Carry on..." fan. I can't decide between "carry on camping","Carry on abroad" or "Carry on Matron"

Its always very nostalgic for me as alot of the films were filmed around places I grew up,too:)

'Ginger Hale' is my fave, only because I never noticed it until I saw the film again last year! Prt Jimmy Widdle calls him 'Ginger', then Sergeant-Major Mac-nutt calls him 'Pvt. Hale'. I'd never put the two together before.
