What's wrong with protecting a private businesses rights?

Point being, I find it laughable that the sales floor of a cigar shop has to be "non-smoking".
 
Im not complaining, just making the observation that somewhere along the way someone is having a freedom trampled on.
 
So if they do a shitty job and a house falls down and kills the family, you don't think they will have their ass sued off?
 
Every freedom must be balanced against every other freedom. In this case, the freedom to equal access to necessary commodities. In your perfect little world a small town's only grocery store refuses to sell to non-whites. Bravo, you've just created your own whites only town.

in my small private business if you dont own a million dollar home or more than i dont want you as a customer and refuse to work with you. profit is only one small part of a successful business model.
 
Why should they allow it? Why should you have any say on how they run their business? What right do you have to voice any say in how it's run? Is this business receiving any of your tax money? Are you a partial owner? Did you help get the business setup? Oh, you didn't do jack shit, therefore you shouldn't have any say.

Basically this all comes down to right vs. privilege.

You feel that if someone runs a business, it is your right to use that business.

I feel that if someone runs a business, it is my privilege to use that business, and they should not be forced to do business with me.
 
last i checked, most doctors were licensed by the state. so a doctor is perfectly free to refuse to treat a person of color.....and the state is perfectly free to not renew his license.
