What's wrong with my CD player in my car?

It is acting really weird... My CD player will not work during the day. It usually starts at night around 6 or something like that. I have a 98 Malibu. I don't know if that really matters, but it's getting really annoying. So I'm just wondering if anyone has any idea why it does that. Can anyone tell me why?
