When i'm playing my music rather loud my deck shuts off. All power going to my deck is lost and I'm not sure why. This typically happens when I'm listening to rap music, so I'm guessing it has something to do with my subs?

Earlier, I messed with my equalizer (I had an equal amount of power going to the front and the rear, when i usually have it faded to the back at -4), and when i fade the music to the front the less loud the music has to be in order to shut off.

I have an alpine ida-x001 deck with a 1200 watt sony xplod xm2002gtr amp and dual bp1204 12" subs. I have memphis speakers in the front and im not sure what's in the rear.

Any suggestions on what i can do to fix this? would a capacitaor help by any chance?

a cap would not help but try some trouble shooting, first unplug the rcas or remote lead to the amp and turn it up as usual and see if the deck shuts down, next unplug the rear speakers and do the same, next the front speakers, just try different combos.

do you have the bass or loudness button on or cranked up, some times a pinched or shorted (bare wire on metal) speaker wire or connected speaker wires will cause this, a poor ground wire.

does the deck seem excessively hot.

are the front speakers 2 or 4 ohms, if 2 ohms it could be overloading the deck.

that is all i can think of off hand but i would start with disconnecting the amp and rear speakers.
