What's the best subs/amp for the cost?

I'm looking into getting some subs and an amp for my xterra (2002). I've started doing a little research but I am trying to get other peoples opinions on what to get. Also, I already have a alpine ida-x100 head unit so would getting something from alpine make it easier to hook up or something?
 
If you are already thinking Alpine then stick with it, there are many good brands out there. If you wanna save money you can go with like HiFonics and other brands in the class... Subs you can go kicker, MTX. You should compare subs and amps in the same price range.
 
hook up? not, run a bit better and cleaner yes... those components are meant for eachother as im trying to slowy turn my car all alpine...

i have the
cda-9887
alpine type X 5 1/4 component speakers
and am just buying an alpine sub and the amplifier
"not to say i dont already have some kickers and a hifonics"
but i would personally suggest type X's if you want insane slap and type R's if you want really loud slap but are rying to save some cash
