you would need 1 component set for the front (drivers for in the doors and tweeters for higher up somewhere on the doors) and 1 coaxial set for the back (they're the ones with the built in tweeters)
dont buy a "box set" (mainstream crappy subs already in a box), you can do much better for the money. 2 low end 12"s wont do anything compared to a decent 12" in a big ported box.
you wont need a 600-700 watt 4 channel amp (thats what powers the door speakers). you'll probably need something like the kicker zx350.4 for the doors (awesome amp, thats what i have running my mids/highs)

for the sub, look into RE audio and Fi, they make awesome subs for good prices. get a custom box made if you can, they're WAY better than any pre-fab box
for the monoblock amp (for the sub), you need to get one that does around the same wattage as the rms on the sub at the ohm load you'll be wiring it to. for example, if you got a 12" kicker L7, which is 750 w rms, you would want to put it on an amp like the kicker zx750.1 which does 750 watts at 2 ohms (it will actually do around 925 becuase kicker amps are underrated)

just remember to always look at rms wattage and ignore the peak, it really doesnt mean anything
and keep in mind that you get what you pay for. good luck :)

dual sealed truck box for best bass and bass SQ. "SOUND quality".

jvc head unit.

pyramid crystal series 2 channel 1000 watt amp.

1 line driver.

sound deadening. fat mat is the best and cheapest. done. you got super SQ and bass that hits for way under 500. toss in a boss adjustable xover for even better sound.

a set of front full range speakers. google full range speakers. they beat any coaxial and 99% of COMPONENTS. you could also add mid bass speakers in pods if you wanted to. fullrange blend and do highs and mids well though so you dont have to have tweeters. full range sparkles.

I'm just about to get my first car, and I was wondering what exact things to get. I don't know much about it, but I think I have a general idea. I was thinking a good stereo, 4 component speakers for the doors (those are the ones with the built in tweeters right?), two 12" subs in a ported box (I've seen them cheap on crutchfield?), and a 4-channel 600-700 watt amp. I really don't know anything about car audio, and I want a fairly budget minded system that hits. I'm REALLY confused when it comes to amps and what's the right size to get for what watt sub/speakers.
