The ninja is a better everyday urban ride ,where as the R1 is a better open country ride in the twisties.
For some the R1's riding position can be taxing but like most things , over time you get used to it .
The ninja would ber far more affordable to own and maintain as the R1 will shred tyres and need to be meticulously maintained as the speeds are at warp speed . You cannot afford to be thrown due to a breakdown when you ride at the speeds the R1 is designed for.
If you are inexperienced , the ninja is the better choice .
The R1 is the choice for experienced riders ,and/or mature riders as the R1 will tempt the rider to open it up ; guaranteed .

Okay you are comparing a 250cc to a 1000 cc bike! That is like conpairing a ford focas to a Ferrari!
The top speed of the r1 is 186 mph!
The top speed of the ninja 250 is 95 mph!
The r1 has almost a hundred mph on the 250!
