i have a 97 s10, 3 door ext. cab... i want a LOUD, hard hitting sound system, but i want to save some room so the 3rd seat is still use able, wat should i do about that...I listen to a lot of rock and metal, some have some pretty good bass and im not sure if 12's would be better as far as response and overall kick of the subs, could i get the same with 2-3 10's???

3 10's have more cone area then 2 12's, i have two jl 10's and they get plenty low and loud.
subs designed for small sealed enclosures will save the most space kicker solobarics, and jl audio introduced the 4/6 dual voice coil subs so u can wire 3 subs to get a 4ohm. load, 3 10's are a good idea and the small box design should fit nice.

Had a 97 s-10 was in same boat i went with two polk audio 10's in a sealed box under my rear seats ran a 4 channel amp at 250 rms per channel in series so was pushing about 425 rms per sub i ended up giving my friend ear damage so be carefull that is a small space to be pushing alot of low end bass! I also had 6x9 in rear at 35 rms and 6.5 inch rounds in my doors all ran as polk i love that brand ran them all at 2 ohms with a sony deck and mtx thunder amps ran about 450.00 used and install myself at about 150.00 good luck man.
