i have been doing intervolts of jogging and walking 4 miles a day, i have seen some resaults but not as much as id hoped, im trying to lose some weight, so then i switched it off with riding my bike 4 miles a day at a fast pace on the hardest resistance. and i have also seen some resaults with that too, which one do you think is a better more effictive workout? i want to be lean and toned, i dont want to be stick thin though i like my womenly curves

I have done a lot of both running and biking. Running makes me thin with little muscle tone. Biking gives me more toned muscle but also bulks me up.
I'd recommend doing both by switching up the routine.
BTW; jogging burns twice as many calories than biking, do a search for a calculator burning calories.

You want to ride you bike the correct way to lose weight.

Start out with a very easy 10 min ride to warm. After the warm up you want to pedal at 70-90 rpm's with a lite pressure on the pedals. This will use your slow twitch muscles that use fat as a fuel and won't tire out your legs.

You want a gear that will get your breathing to the point where you can still talk but not sing. If you need to catch your breath or your legs start to burn drop down a gear or two and keep going.

You want to ride for distance not speed. You will get faster as you get stronger. It also takes a while to get your body burning lots of calories so don't expect much the first few weeks.

You need to ride more then 4 miles to see any results. Cycling is very efficient so you need at least a hour a day or more.

I've found biking to be more enjoyable than running (for me), it's also zero impact.

Cycling actually burns about the same amount of calories as hard running, but with less stress since it uses more muscle groups. You'll actually get better body results with longer rides (instead of short hard rides).

Cycling isn't much for building muscle. It's great for toning them. Cycling uses & tones the calve, thighs, butt, abs, chest, back, and arms. You need a good workout & that means 20+ minutes at a good pace, not 10 hard (although that is good cardio).

Personally, I've never seen a sexier woman than one who rides regularly.

Enough biking and a sensible diet will do wonders for your body.

4 miles is just a warm up. Up that to about 12 miles every day and you'll begin to see some serious results. Or at least every other day.

The most important thing is to find an exercise regimen you can sorta enjoy doing. If you're talking about riding an exercise bike, that is so boring nobody will do it for long. Get a real bike and enjoy the great outdoors. Now that's fun!
