HO alternator? Well I did a lot of research because I dont have alot of money and I never seem to have a lot of money, so I dont know when I could afford the big 3, so I could get a REAL system, but for now I'd like the LOUDEST POSSIBLE BASS for a car with just a stock altenrator, and no special batteries, etc. I have none of that. My amp is rated at 850 RMS, so I shouldnt need that anyway. I am wondering (from the pros and the experienced) which brand sub could I buy that would give me the loudest possible bass for my situation?? I recently went with Diamond Audio because I was told they are even louder than a w7 which my friend said w7's are so loud that they break windows. I found out that probably isnt true, but my point is that the Diamond Audio was NOT NEARLY loud enough for me, it sounded like 400 watts (and it was indeed wired at 4 ohms, so it was only putting out about 500w)
Anyways, I cant afford a new amp, nor an alternator, so for my situation with this Phoenix Gold 1600 watt mono block amp I have, what kind of sub should I get for the loudest bass? I was told that an FI BTL 18 inch sub would hit hard with this amp (even though the FI subs can handle upto 10,000 watts, I'd be underpowering it a LOT, but would it STILL be my best choice for my situation??) Well let me know everyone's opinions. I'm looking for SPL (the bass that you can FEEL go through your body) I dont care about SQ, Any bass sounds good to me. Thanks a million in advance for your opinions!

well for one, the big 3 upgrade will only cost about $10 to do, since it only has to do with wiring.

0-1000 watt amp

I would go with two 15" subs

try out powerbass MD-15's
(about $75 each)

I highly recommend these if your looking for deep bass you can feel.

these only need about 300-400 watts to give you a nice bass, so one amp can run two easily

I have installed 15's multiple times because of similar requests and have always seen happy faces when they feel their hair moving for only $150

the bigger the sub you get the louder the bass will be, but with size comes price, the bigger they get the more it's going to get so i would suggest a 15"

dont worry so much about the sub. its the amp that you have to worry about that sucks out all your power. and you really dont need to upgrade your alt. right away. unless you decide you wanna push like 3000 watts+ through your system. (and thats just a rough idea) just get an upgraded battery that has more power and get some capacitors. The big 3 would be a good idea, cheap too. Both will just take strain off your alternator and electrical system. from the sounds of it, your not going to be getting anything all that big anytime soon.
So do those few things and it will be cheap and will be worth while. Shouldn't have to worry about your electrical system then, its going to cost a little money, but either way you look at it, it isn't going to hurt you, its only benefiting because its helping the car itself and the sound system at the same time. Hope this helps. Good Luck
